Jivamukti weekend with Emily Lacy – SOLD OUT

31 August 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 1 September 2018 @ 11:30 pm

£60

Join senior Jivamukti teacher Emily Lacy for a wonderful weekend of yoga on Friday 31st August and Saturday 1st September.

FRIDAY NIGHT 6-9.30pm £30

We spend much of our week getting things done. Restorative yoga  is designed to give you an opportunity to relax, settle into your own body and shift into “being” mode. On Friday night Emily will delve deep into a Jivamukti style restorative session followed by an uplifting chant session to leave you feeling restored yet vibrant.

Class will begin with some active asanas (postures) before settling into the restorative practice of letting go and releasing tension. The asanas are supported by blankets, blocks and other props and often held for several minutes at a time. Meditation is also practiced.

SATURDAY 9-10.15am £8

Emily will be guest teacher Anna’s Saturday morning class, class passes however will not be valid for this class and a drop in rate of £8 will apply.

SATURDAY 10.30-13.30 £25

Join Emily for a two hour advanced Jivamukti workshop looking at different ways to ‘fly’ into arm balances. This will be equal parts fun and challenging, with options given for all levels to help you find new ways of approaching or maybe achieving these poses. Come with an open mind and heart. ‘To fly, we must be light’ says Sharon Gannon

COST FOR ENTIRE WEEKEND £60.

BOOK QUICKLY, EMILY HAS SOLD OUT EACH TIME SHE HAS VISITED US.

ABOUT JIVAMUKTI
As a path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings, Jivamukti Yoga is grounded in the original meaning of the Sanskrit word asana as “seat, connection” – relationship to the Earth. Earth implies all of life. Jivamukti Yoga maintains that one’s relationship to others (asana) should be mutually beneficial and come from a consistent place of joy and happiness. So the practice of asana becomes more than mere physical exercise to keep one’s body fit or to increase strength or flexibility; it becomes a way to improve one’s relationship to all others.

This core philosophy is expressed through five tenets which form the foundation of Jivamukti Yoga.

Ahimsa

A nonviolent, compassionate lifestyle extending to other animals, the environment and all living beings, emphasizing ethical vegetarianism (veganism) and animal rights.

Bhakti

Acknowledgment that God/Self-realization is the goal of all yoga practices; can be expressed through chanting, the setting of a high intention for the practice or other devotional practices.

Dhyana

Meditation: connecting to that eternal unchanging reality within.

Nada

The development of a sound body and mind through deep listening; can be incorporated in a class using recorded music, spoken word, silence or even the teacher’s voice.

Shastra

Study of the ancient yogic teachings, including Sanskrit chanting, drawn from the Focus of the Month to the extent possible.

Jivamukti Yoga is physically and intellectually stimulating, and lots of fun. Expect Vinyasa (flowing asana sequences), hands-on adjustments, Pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, Sanskrit chanting, Yogic philosophical teachings based on focus of the month and deep relaxation. Asana sequences are ever-changing with eclectic music to unify mind, body and soul.
